Day 55- Making alterations

On Thursday I continued making the new sample. I had to make some changes for the skirt lining, cause the lining fabric is too thick for gathering it on the waist line. So I took away all the gathering and cut the skirt from the side seams so that it fits to the bodice without any gathering. And I altered the patterns also. I was really happy when I finished the dress. I think it looks very lovely :)

Day 54- Next dress

On Wednesday I started making another dress as an sample of the new collection. It's a variation from our Minna dress. The bodice is lace and the skirt is silk. It has an open back with zip, and lace trimming in the neckline and armholes

Day 53- Finishing dresses

Today I finished two dresses; the Cecile dress and a new sample dress for the upcoming collection. Both dresses are lace from head to toe, yet quite simple designs. I enjoyed making these dresses, and learned some new techniques about details. Here's some progress pictures and details:

Day 52- Almost the last Monday

On Monday at work I continued sewing the Cecile dress. Completed the lining, sewed the hem, finished the sleeves, attached the zipper and finally added some lace trimmings. 

Day 50- Shopping in Stratford

Saturdays are for shopping! So this Saturday I went to Stratford by bus. Stratford is in the eastern London, and is seemed like a really nice place. I went to a huge shopping centre called Westfield. I spent there way too many hours :D As I remember, there is over 200 differet shops and restaurants.
