Day 49- So many dresses

I woke up to the most beautiful sunshine today :) It made me feel so happy when I was leaving to work. My agenda today was to really make some progress on the dresses I've started with. First thing today I cut rest of the fabrics for the Cecile dress (part of the main pieces and the lining). Then I continued sewing the dress together. Later I cut the lining for the new dress when the fabric arrived to the studio. I sew the lining and the main pieces are also ready.

I feel good to start my weekend now, I'll get back to the dresses on Monday. Hope you have a lovely weekend too! :)

Day 48- New collection

Working on Thursday was interesting, because we have started to work on the new collection. So I'll start making samples of the new designs. I started making this new dress, but also making another sample of an older dress. It is great that I can make dresses from cutting to finishing by myself. :) So I'm going to work on these samples for a while now. Hoping to learn a lot of new things on the way.

Day 47- Wednesday, Mamma Mia!

I spent the whole day with my friends on Wednesday. We went to see the Mamma Mia-musical in Novello theater. I usually don't like musicals or ABBA, but I liked this one. My friends went back to Finland today, and I can't wait to see my friends and family soon! I have a few weeks here left, so going to enjoy every moment, 'cause I know I will miss this city.

Day 46- Unforgettable Tuesday

On Tuesday I went to work, as usual. I cut one dress to make a new sample. I also finished one head piece made from fabric flowers and chain. I packed the head piece and a lace cap with veil for a customers. I had a nice day at work, I learned something about patterns, cause I haven't made dresses like these before. I learned one little, but very useful thing about making notches in a lace fabric (picture below).

After work I went to my friends hotel. We had planned to go out in the evening and go see the nightlife of London together. So we did. We went to a few different bars/clubs. I had extremely fun time with my friends :) Enough said about that night!

Day 45- Counting down the days

On Monday at work I restored one old vintage dress. The fabric was broken, so I covered the broken places with new lace to hide the holes. It was nice to sew something by hand one in a while. Today I was missing home so much that it made me so sad. I just wanted to be home already. I have really enjoyed being here in London, but I those moments when I miss home like crazy. 

Later my other friend came to London as well. I immediately felt so much better when meeting friends. They made me feel happy and like I was already home :) We went to have dinner together and walked downtown.

Day 44- Meeting my friend

On Sunday I was first just walking in the city center. Then I met my friend Jonna in the evening and went to Italian restaurant near Oxford street and walked on the streets. There was such a beautiful shop windows, so carefully and creatively decorated. I went home quite late, but had no problems to wake up for work in the morning :) I was so excited too see her, but it felt unreal to meet her, cause I've got used to being alone here most of the time.
