Day 65- Going home

My internship in London is now over and I'm back in Finland. I was going to write this post earlier (the day when I actually came home), but decided to write it later after I've thought about everything.

My journey to the Gatwick airport went fine. At first I was a bit nervous about going home, without any reason actually. From my home in London I took a cab to one tube station, then continued my journey to the Victoria station by tube. From Victoria station I went to the airport by train. The whole journey took about an hour and a half.

My flight was late for an hour and when I had to wait longer to get to the plane, I was thinking about staying in London. So what if I had just stayed there? Who knows.

I got home safely, around midnight on Sunday. I had a day off on Monday and then I went back to work on Tuesday.

I could write about my internship and London for hours. I have so many things in my mind. All in all London is a wonderful, stunning and so interesting place. I'd go back anytime. And about the internship; it was a great experience for me and made me believe in myself even more and in addition now I'm more sure about what I want to do in the future.

I got very inspired by Minna and my workmates, and I've been thinking about studying abroad. Seriously. There is so much to see out there, that I'm not staying in Finland for life. I have a strong feeling that I belong to a bigger place than Finland.

Day 64- Shopping for the last time

Yesterday I went shopping for the last time to Oxford street. I've been there many times before, but can never get enough :D I saw beautiful Christmas lights while I was walking down the street.

I also went to the Harrods, it is a shopping centre for rich people :D And I kind of felt a bit poor there, cause I cannot really buy a thousand pound handbag. I have never seen anything so luxurious. Hard to even imagine that someone's are living eating with golden forks and knives.

I'm writing this post from the Gatwick airport. Time to go home. I really feel like I was one of the other Londoners, and almost like part of the family I lived with during my internship.

Day 63- Last Friday

Today was my last day at Minna's studio. I packed some accessories, sewed some flowers and finished accessories, continued making a top for a dress, which needed altering. It was a beautiful weather today, almost like a summer, so warm and the sun was shining behind the clouds.

When I got home, I started to pack my luggage (just to see how much I can shop tomorrow :D) I'm glad to go home, but I just have to say that London in amazing place and I would come back anytime!

Day 62- Last days at work

On my way to work on Thursday when I was sitting in the tube I heard a couple speaking Finnish, and it made me feel like I was home for a minute. But I was still happy to realize that I'm in London :)

On my almost last day at work I made a veil, and altered a top of our new sample dress. We faced some challenges when trying to make the top fit. There is gathering just below the bust, so it has to be just right. Anyways my day was good and I feel really great about this internship. So happy that I came to London!

Day 61- So happy Wednesday

This Wednesday I did a lot of different things. First thing in the morning I removed a few stains from our new tops. I have to say that Vanish is effective! :D Then I made some changes to a veil that our customer had ordered. She wanted to have more pink flowers for it, so I added more colors.

I also made another veil, Cassie veil. I have liked to make accessories too. That's something I haven't done so much before, so have learned a lot about making beautiful head pieces and veils. I made a simple instructions for making the Cassie veil. Just a quick drawing ad measurements.

And a little things, like sewing labels to sample dresses, making shoulder decorations for the black dress below and packing a veil, taking the trash out etc.

In the end of our working day we went to have a dinner with Minna, and my workmates Miina and Maria. It was really nice to see that side of Brixton and the food was amazingly good! We had some Mexican food and a few drinks. I will miss back here, and my workmates at work have been encouraging, so lovely and first of all very teaching. So thank you for that! :)
